On 13th May, 2016, Open Minds Theatre Company’s project, under the banner of Rotherham Carnival, raised nearly £700 plus tons of donations of clothes and resources for refugees in Lesvos and Calais.  The event was supported by a number of other organisations, such as the National Union of Teachers, Amnesty International and Unite against Fascism, amongst others, in an attempt to connect people with ways they can help fellow humans around the world.  Six fabulous acts performed during the evening (Ray Hearne, Rotherham Red Choir, Craig and Karen, Rotherham Township Choir, Tom Jane and EJK), along with guest speakers such as Cllr Taiba Yasseen – all compered by our very own Claire Saddington.
